Candid Carrie's Friday Foto Fiesta . . .

My 16th Birthday. . .

Really!

I have no answers for you.

There is no good reason for those balloons on my chest.

There is no good reason why they are different colors.

There is simply no good reason. . .

There is no good reason for those "balloons" hanging on either side of my head.

There is no good reason for that crepe paper extravaganza.

There is no good reason for those glasses.

There is no good reason for my "Birthday Power" hand sign.

There is no good reason to know what my other hand was doing.

It had a mind of its own.

There is no good reason for that hair.

There is no good reason for the party hat with the pompom on top.

From the looks of that light fixture, my birthday party was held in a Bordello.

Hopefully the lights were turned down low.

There is one good reason for this photo . . .
and that's, Candid Carrie's Foto Friday Fiesta!

this is a great picture

Or is it Sean Cassidy?

Or Bobby Kennedy?

Or Luke Skywalker?

Forget the balloons on your chest; who the hell is on the T-shirt?

I vote for Luke Skywalker. Maybe one of the Beatles?!

To me it looks like John Conway for Taxi. Yes, she's that old.

Romi the only reason for that photo was for you to show me. And now that you did, be careful.

P.S. I totally remember the air shortage during that era. The government used more hot air than they had aniticipated and American's were required to fill balloons to less than one half of their maximum capacity.

It's David Bowie, during his androgynous phase.

Chris,
Weird pictures from my past are the only pictures I seem to have!

Candid Carrie,
I wanted my balloons to look like that:-)

Alrighty then! You go girl. I think you and I have the Weird Posts of the Day.

What is totally bizarre is that I had that shirt on a poster in my room.

I was fascinated by his one green and one brown eye. Sort of like your balloons.

This is so funny! For my 16th bday party, I had a 50's sock hop. Oh, those were such innocent days.

The balloons hanging behind your head look so nasty.

Hysterical! I wish I had a photo like that from my 16th bday.

That was a nice play on words! I didn't even notice the balloons until you mentioned them...the ones on your chest! :)

Now that is one TOTALLY ROCKIN' 16 yr. old! Bowie ey? So this is 16 circa 197?

Babe, I wanna party with you! But I want the droopy balloons on my chest to match... Can I go with pink please?

I can just imagine the birthday song they'll be singing at the bordello... I think it goes something like this:

(ala TGI-Fridays Tune)
Happy, happy birthday,
We doubt that you'll get laid,

Sorry, that's all I could come up with and that's probably all they need to sing anyhow.... Pretty much says it all. To make you feel better, they would've sang the same song at my 16th.

It was worth it to post this picture for the comments.

Lori,
I liked yours too!

Swirl Girl,
One green eye and one brown...sort of like the balloons. LOL!

Lisa,
I'm not so sure those are "balloons" hanging above my head:-)

Angie,
No...believe me...you don't! I had no idea what to do with this picture until Candid Carrie came along.

Jessica,
Thanks for visiting. Come back anytime.

Embee,
LOL! That birthday song is great. I'm going to make everyone sing it on my birthday in a couple weeks.
Your guess is correct. It's definitely from the 70's.

I figured out it was David Bowie right away - I think we may be the same-ish age. My mom let us have a teeny glass of pink champagne for my 16th birthday. Then she became a staunch tea-totaller. I guess I pushed her over the edge.

the first question I wanted to ask was who that was on your shirt. Looks like I wasn't the only one :)!!!

I think you should re-create that outfit, wear it out in public on the weekend, and see how long it takes for you to get picked up on....or arrested :)!

There is no good reason for this comment, except that you make me laugh.
